Blue Print Online – Buyers Book Now

“While it has been impossible to hold the actual show in New York, Blue Print created an online event to keep Art Directors and Buyers in touch with Artists, Illustrators and Studios. Each exhibitor has created an online booth for the event, enabling meetings with Art Directors and Buyers using Doodle and Zoom.” Paul of Blue Print Online.

Blue Print Online is almost here. I’m excited to be exhibiting my work at this online show for art buyers. I’ve been busy working on new designs, my exhibitor page, social media flyers and my show presentation. Exhibiting at the show means that my designs can be considered for interior decor, stationery, wallpaper, giftwrap and products.

Here’s a message from the show organisers:

While it has been impossible to hold the actual show in New York, Blue Print created an online event to keep Art Directors and Buyers in touch with Artists, Illustrators and Studios. Each exhibitor has created an online booth for the event, enabling meetings with Art Directors and Buyers using Doodle and Zoom.

The web address is www.blue-print-online.com. From the Home Page you can find all the information you need to access The Show. We have added some Product images to this show, these can be seen on the exhibitors pages, along with their artwork.

To receive the password to access The Show and view the exhibitors and their exciting new artwork, you will need to register in the Buyer Register section. Once you receive your password you can access The Show from August 9th 2022 and book your Zoom meetings with the studio or artists of your choice. The actual show dates are August 16th -18th 2022.

As usual there is a mix of established designer, artists, illustrators and exciting new talent at this latest event, you can see their flyers updated daily at https://www.instagram.com/blueprintshows/

Blue Print Online 2022

I am looking forward to exhibiting with Blue Print for the first time at the next Blue Print Online event August 16th – 18th 2022.

Blue Print is a Surface Design and Print Show. The event has found an online format for recent years, for reasons we all know too well.

I will be revealing some brand new work in my exhibition.

Snowsports Hotel Room Concept

When developing a snowsports themed range of designs for interior decor I thought about where the ultimate use of my designs would be, it has to be the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.

The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise is an iconic hotel that is firmly on my wish list. I follow ice skater Elladj Balde who skates on the lake with the hotel often in view when he does his amazing, inspiring skate tricks.

To show how my designs could be used I mocked up a Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise guest room.

This design features fabrics and my art prints on the wall. The fabrics are ski gondolas, snowflake motifs made up of ski equipment, ski goggle reflections, skiing through trees and alpine skiers and cross-country skiers from above.

I used this goal as motivation to create a collection of ski and snowboard themed fabric and wallpaper designs. Designs which reflect a modern approach to snowsports themed decor and reflect the joy of skiing which I like to convey in my work.

This joy is a themed of my book Ski A to Z which was published by Meyer & Meyer Sport in January 2022. The book is now available globally and is helping new people to have a better start in the sport and for established skiers to benefit from information and advice to boost their enjoyment. Ski A to Z is distributed by Cardinal Publishing in the Canada and the US.

Author and Illustrator Takes Skiing Home – Press Release

26 April 2022 – Author and illustrator of Ski A to Z Kimberley Kay has launched a range of 18 fabrics and wallpapers on ski, snowsports and mountain themes.

The range of fabrics echoes the bright, fun illustrations created for Ski A to Z and conveys a love of skiing, sport and the mountain environment. The designs are available for licensing (at the time of writing), they can also be ordered as print on demand by the metre or in a range of ready-made household furnishings.

From snowflakes, to ski equipment, ski lifts to mountain peaks the fabric and wallpaper designs are ideal for keeping the ski season alive. Perfect for chalet, ski apartment, ski condo or a snowsports themed room, the designs are in Kimberley’s bright upbeat style. The designs are available at Kimberley’s ‘Inspire by Kim’ Spoonflower shop.

Kimberley said, “Much ski themed home decor is a nostalgic style with imagery and icons from the early days of leisure skiing. My designs bring in modern icons, imagery and equipment, to provide the opportunity to furnish in a more modern alpine style.”

The designs are available to be printed on demand on a range of fabrics from sheer chiffons, through a range of cottons, right through to upholstery linens and cosy velvets. The designs can also be bought on rolls of wallpaper, pre-pasted, or self adhesive through to grasscloth wallpapers. Kim has mocked up a number of scenes to show how she envisages the designs may be used.

“Whilst working on Ski A to Z I decided that once the book was published I wanted to use surface design techniques to develop a home decor range which would portray the fun and joy of skiing. I hope that skiers will also be inspired to use the fabrics for accessories and clothing.” Kimberley continued.
