NEW FABRIC DESIGNS

Exciting news – I have new fabric designs in my Spoonflower shop. These are ideal for skiers and snowboarders. Plus its a great time to order these new fabrics as Spoonflower is offering 15% off fabrics until 23:59 ET on 9th April.

Read on for more information about my 4 new designs, taking the number of my designs violable to 30.

Ski Goggle Reflections on Black is a rework of the Ski Goggle Reflections design which has a white background. This new version on a dark background is somewhat different to the first and is in response to the request for designs that are more suitable for men.

This new design is available in two different scales, and here it is pictured on my samples, printed on Polartec Fleece, the newest fabric to be offered by US based print on demand company Spoonflower.

See also the Ski Goggle Reflections design on the white background (pictured) here.

Polartec fleece is a great fabric for neck warmers, fleece jackets, cosy cushions and plush pillows. This is just one fabric that the design is available on – the Spoonflower range offers from Cottons to Velvets, with a suitable fabric type for whatever you plan to make.

Spoonflower print the design that you chose, onto the type of fabric you want, and ship it to you. For example I ordered my fabrics on 30th March and received them on 2nd April. Super, speedy service.

On the Spoonflower website, in just one click you can see how a design will look on home decor, fabrics and wallpaper. It’s possible to buy ready made items, or buy fabric and sew projects yourself.

Also new in the Inspire by Kim Spoonflower shop are two new colour ways for the popular Ski Flakes design, all created in ski equipment, ski tracks and peaks, At customer request these are now available on black and on a lush magenta backgrounds. See those here.

My fabric samples are printed on satin, I love the way that the fabric catches the light.

The third image her is the Snow Crystal Stars On Blue. Followers may recognise this fabric from my ski jacket design concepts images, shared previously.

Peace Bear

In 2019 I entered a design for the ‘Bears of Sheffield’ sculpture trail.

The concept was a bear with Peace written in languages to represent the communities of Sheffield.

I researched and carefully represented the diverse languages. My design and hand lettering skills have developed since this proposed design but I feel there is value in sharing the bear concept now, and the colour palette choice I made feels apt for the present time.

Stories of people having to store their two metre bear through the lockdowns, as the launch was delayed a year, reduced my disappointment at my design not being successful.

See more about the Bears of Sheffield here

Sharing this message of peace and hoping for this invasion to cease.

Peace.
